Enjoy wonderful care at ‘Hollyhock’ Limestone Cottage

Overnight and day respite stays are now available at Resthaven Limestone Coast Community Services’ ‘Hollyhock’ Limestone Cottage.

‘Carers can relax and take some time out, while the person they care for stays at Resthaven’s “Hollyhock” Limestone Cottage for a day or overnight short stays,’ says Emily Ellis, Coordinator Community Services.

‘Being a carer is rewarding, but sometimes it can be tiring. Short breaks provide a valuable opportunity for carers to recharge.’

Guests enjoy the home’s daily routine, with homecooked meals and activities that suit the individual’s interests and abilities.

‘Our activities are client-led,’ Emily says. ‘We do things such as painting, baking, colouring-in, gardening, listening to music, and going out for social drives around Mount Gambier.’

Social groups, which bring together regular clients to foster friendships and interactions, are also being formed at ‘Hollyhock’ Limestone Cottage.

‘We love to welcome new members to the groups,’ says Emily.

Trained and skilled staff support guests at the home 24 hours a day. The coordinator oversees the cottage, with support from a Registered Nurse.

A My Aged Care referral is required for subsidised overnight and day respite. Private options are also available.
