• ‘Squeaky Joints’ Cookbook Launch in Strathalbyn

    Squeaky Joints Cookbook coverOn 15 December, Resthaven’s Murray Bridge, Hills and Fleurieu Community Services’ new offices at 9 Rankine Street, Strathalbyn, will host their first ‘event’, giving clients a ‘sneak peek’ of the new space prior to its formal opening in early 2017.

    Squeaky Joints member Lee LyonsThe occasion marks the launch of the ‘Squeaky Joints’ cookbook, entitled ‘Squeaky Joints and Well-Oiled Cooks’. A collection of recipes from Resthaven clients and staff, it includes ‘old favourites’ such as savoury toast and sticky date pudding. Each contributor offers ‘wisdom of life’ inspirational quotes.

    The larger, recently refurbished premises offer a perfect location for the cookbook launch and Christmas celebration.
    ‘We are pleased to have the larger office space, as services in the area continue to expand,’ says Cecelia Oxborrow, Manager Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills and Fleurieu Community Services.

    ‘We provide quality home care and respite services throughout the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Murray Bridge, and Strathalbyn is in an ideal location to support older people in the area and the Adelaide Hills to stay living at home.’

    ‘At the moment, we are still settling in, and plan to hold an official opening early in the new year.’
    The larger office accommodates staff from the former Strathalbyn office at 4 Donald Street, along with staff from the Mount Barker office, which closed when the lease of the building at Victoria Street was ended to make way for a new shopping complex.
