    Resthaven Leabrook redevelopment takes shape

If you have driven past Resthaven Leabrook lately, you will have noticed the building works that are going on at the site.

The major refurbishment of the Mortimer wing has recently been completed, with both staff and residents excited to experience the upgrades. The lounge and dining area has been demolished to make way for a new modern open plan concept, with new kitchenette, joinery, bed heads, and artwork installed.

Standard single room Leabrook RSLandscaping in both the Mortimer and Dorothy Wilson wings is also underway, with new paths and garden areas being established.

The Dorothy Wilson wing will begin refurbishment next, with the Godfrey and Burnside wings to follow. Upon completion, common areas such as lounge rooms, dining rooms and serveries will all have been upgraded. Completion of the $15 million project is anticipated in mid-2027.

Residents and representatives have been kept well informed during the renovation process, with disturbances kept to a minimum.

The refurbishment at Resthaven Leabrook is part of Resthaven’s ongoing Capital Development Review, which considers new developments, refurbishments and upgrades across all Resthaven residential, community services and retirement living sites to ensure sites are of a high standard and meet the ongoing needs and wants of the Resthaven community.
