Redevelopment progress at Resthaven Westbourne Park
The redevelopment of Resthaven Westbourne Park has continued this year, with Stage 2 achieving practical completion in September 2025.
Stage 2 accommodates 26 resident rooms over two levels, and residents have moved into these new spaces and are enjoying their new accommodation at the residential aged care home.
Demolition of old rooms in the Hampton and Richmond areas has now been completed to make way for a new hairdressing salon, gym, staff room, and other facilities.
Prior to this, the construction of the undercroft car park was also completed earlier in the year.
Stage 3 of the project will include completion of the cloister courtyard, which will be a major milestone for the project.
The $50 million redevelopment embodies a ‘small house’ aged care model, providing a homely and personalised environment to the 121 residents of Resthaven Westbourne Park. The design includes traditional living spaces, more activities and games spaces, private dining areas, outdoor walking trails, and raised garden beds.
The redevelopment at 30 Sussex Terrace, Westbourne Park, is the culmination of years of planning and consultation with residents, staff, volunteers, and the local community.
Final project completion is expected towards the end of 2026.
