    Christmas festivities across Resthaven

Christmas celebrations are in full swing across Resthaven, with all residential homes holding their annual Christmas Luncheons throughout December.

At each site, residents enjoy a traditional, three-course Christmas meal with all the trimmings, including pudding with brandy custard. There are many laughs to be heard as residents pull their bonbons and don their paper crowns, whilst Christmas carols enhance the festive ambience.

Each luncheon is attended by representatives from the Executive, who enjoy chatting with residents, staff, and volunteers. Resthaven Board members also may attend.

In the lead-up to the luncheons, residents, staff, and volunteers all work together to decorate the hall with festive Christmas trees, tinsel, lights, and baubles.

Housekeeping staff prepare well in advance to provide a delicious spread, with many positive comments received from residents.

Of course, a Resthaven Christmas Luncheon would not be complete without a visit from ‘Father Christmas’, who always stops to chat and hand out gifts to each resident!

These events are an opportunity for site communities to come together and share in the spirit of Christmas, as many residents will spend Christmas Day with their family. For those who stay on site, staff make Christmas Day extra special for them.

Resthaven Community Services clients also enjoy Christmas events, with a range of lunches, parties and celebrations held across several locations for clients living in their own homes in the community.

Spreading the Christmas cheer across the Resthaven community is a lovely end to the year, before welcoming in a new one.

From all at Resthaven, we wish you and your families a joyous Christmas and a happy new year!
