A ‘Hole in One’ for the Men on the Move social group

On 21 January 2021, the Resthaven Marion Community Services ‘Men on the Move’ group enjoyed a relaxing day out at the Mount Osmond Golf Club.

Social Group Coordinator, Monika Lyckholm, says, ‘The Men on the Move group is all about creating new experiences and revisiting old ones, whilst enjoying the company of others.’

‘The Mount Osmond Golf Club was the perfect location.’

‘Situated in the Adelaide foothills, the club opened in 1930 and boasts an incredible history.’

‘During the war, it was used as a convalescent hospital, during which time the fairways turned to unruly weeds.’

‘Their most famous members were Sir Donald Bradman and his wife, Jesse, who were members for many years.’

‘Sir Donald was also a gifted golf player, winning two club championships during his membership there.’

‘When we visited, the group enjoyed the amazing views of the city, coastline and the 18th green, whilst eating their meal in the bistro area.’

‘We were treated like members and the service and food quality were excellent.’

    ‘We were very impressed!’

‘The Mount Osmond Golf Club certainly hit a hole in one with the Men on the Move!’

‘It’s on the list to revisit in the future.’
