    How to apply for Home Support and Wellness services

    Resthaven offers a wide range of flexible services so that you are able to live independently at home.

    Trained Resthaven home support workers deliver services in your home, or at the Resthaven Marion Community Services office.

    You may choose to receive support with household tasks, home maintenance, shopping, social activities, keeping healthy, personal care, and nursing care.

    For community respite in the southern metropolitan area, contact Resthaven Community Respite Services.

    Contact us on 1300 136 633 and we’ll facilitate your referral through My Aged Care, or contact My Aged Care directly on 1800 200 422.

    Social, Wellness and Fitness groups available:

    Social

    • Craft Creations: Small social group for people interested in craft  activities. Morning tea provided.
    • Cork & Fork: Social outing with other people visiting local hotels.
    • Movie Magic: Relaxed and enjoyable movie evening where you  can connect with fellow movie lovers. Enjoy a great film together and share a meal before heading home.
    • Men on the Move: Men’s social group visiting various places of Interest.
    • The Friday Club: A fun social group and social interesting different activities every week.  
    • Busy Brushes: Watercolor painting group facilitated by an art   teacher. Afternoon Tea provided.
    • Stepping Out (Saturday): Outing group, fun and interesting activities to various places for everyone.
    • Girls on the Go (Saturday): Outings for Ladies to various and interesting places.

    Wellness

    • Making Minds Matter: Through engaging activities and brain-boosting exercises, it supports mental sharpness while providing a friendly and enjoyable social environment.
    • Carers Catch up: A group for carers to spend time with people who understands.
    • Parkinson’s Self-Management: Gentle exercises, helpful education about managing symptoms, support for carers, and a friendly space to connect with others who understands.
    • Hot Stuff Hand Therapy: Wax therapy, gentle exercise and planned activities with a hand therapy and well-being focus. Only wax therapy and gentle exercises on Fridays.
    • Wellness on Wednesday (WOW):  Hot Wax hand therapy, massage and fun, suited to people with Arthritic hands, chronic pain, stress and/or depression. Afternoon tea provided.
    • Moving Meditation: Low impact movements incorporating elements of Tai-Chi, Qigong, Pilates, Yoga and breathing techniques. Designed to improve balance, flexibility, strength posture and relaxation.

    Fitness

    • Move to the Groove: A group to get fit with music, have fun and make friends. 
    • Health Moves Exercises: A moderate exercise group suited to people with stable long term health conditions.
    • Fitness & Balance (FAB): Education and exercises focusing on improving strength and balance.
    • EMAA Exercises: Gentle seated exercises “Easy Moves for Active Ageing.”
    • Pilates: Standing Pilates for seniors and beginners to assist with balance and strength in a relaxed environment.
    • Hydrotherapy: For improved joint mobility, pain relief, better balance and coordination, enhanced circulation, muscle strengthening, Cardiovascular Health, Stress Relief and Relaxation.
