Continued growth in the Fleurieu leads to expansion of Resthaven services
Every day, Resthaven shares the lives and wisdom of older people and their carers, opening doors to the full range of aged care service options available.
Services are provided throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Riverland, Fleurieu Peninsula, lower Barossa region and the Limestone Coast of South Australia.
Executive Manager Community Services, Mel Ottaway, says, ‘Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills & Fleurieu Community Services is one of Resthaven’s largest, and with continued growth, we have decided to divide it into two separate services from 1 March 2024.’
‘The team has done an amazing job supporting clients across the region; however, it is now time to create two regional services: Resthaven Fleurieu Community Services, and Resthaven Murray Mallee Hills Community Services.’
‘Tanya Boakes has been appointed as the new Manager in the Fleurieu, and Kimberley Lord as the new Manager for Murray Mallee Hills.’
‘Both Tanya and Kimberley are well-known locals, having worked in management roles with Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills & Fleurieu Community Services for several years.’
‘The move will have minimal impact on the older people who are supported by Resthaven, as we will undergo a gradual division, aiming to have operations fully separated by 1 July 2024.’
‘We are excited for this new chapter in Resthaven’s community services and wish Tanya and Kimberley well in their new roles.’
‘Resthaven Murray Mallee Hills Community Services will continue to operate out of the custom-built office at 37 Swanport Road, Murray Bridge, adjacent to the residential aged care home.’
‘The office at 9 Rankine Street, Strathalbyn, will become the Resthaven Fleurieu Community Services main office, with outreach offices in Goolwa, Port Elliot, and Victor Harbor.’
‘The sites will continue to work closely together to deliver outstanding care and services to older people throughout the regions.’
