Hand-made baby clothes a sweet parting gift

Resthaven Paradise resident, Mrs Fern Milward, is using her sewing skills to create a beautiful baby dress for the upcoming birth of a baby girl for Lifestyle Coordinator, Thuy-Anh Pham.

Manager, Shani Liyanage, says, ‘Thuy is expecting her first child soon, and will soon go on maternity leave.’

‘Mrs Milward wanted to send her into motherhood with a meaningful gift – and what better than a handmade dress?’

Mrs Milward says, ‘I had never learnt dressmaking in a class – I’m self-taught. I’ve been learning it by myself throughout my life.’

Shani says, ‘We supplied Mrs Milward with a sewing machine and everything else she needed, and away she went.’

‘It was great to see her skill in creating this dress.’

‘It is not only a wonderful gift for Thuy, but a way for Mrs Milward to share her knowledge and skills – and brush up on an old hobby she used to enjoy in younger years.’

‘Thank you to Mrs Milward, and we wish Thuy all the best as she begins her journey into motherhood.’
