South Australian not for profit charities, Resthaven and Minda, have teamed up!
‘I am genuinely delighted to announce that, from October, Minda Incorporated will be providing laundry services to Resthaven’s eleven residential aged care homes,’ says Resthaven Executive Manager, Finance and Corporate Services, David Norton.
‘We are really proud to support Minda, a South Australian, not for profit charity, just like Resthaven.’
‘Minda and Resthaven have many shared values and goals—first and foremost is the concept of working together to provide trust, and support people with dignity and choice.’
‘Minda is a non-government organisation delivering services to people with intellectual disabilities both in metropolitan and regional areas, offering support and opportunity to approximately 1,700 South Australians.’
‘Resthaven’s new laundry contract with Minda was confirmed after a competitive tender process through Synergy—the group purchasing team of the UnitingCare network in South Australia. Synergy uses the collective size of the organisations associated with the Uniting Church to negotiate competitive pricing and conditions for a range of goods and services.’
‘Through Synergy, we access competitive prices and conditions that ensure best value is achieved so that our resources are applied in the most appropriate manner.’
‘Minda’s competitive tender won on merit, having recently built a state of the art commercial laundry in a purpose-designed building at Lonsdale.’
‘It will now become a supply partner to those Uniting Church organisations who require large scale laundry services.’
‘The laundry is run as a social enterprise model that supports employees with an intellectual, social, cultural or physical disadvantages. This is a good fit for us, and we look forward to working with Minda to provide high quality laundry services to our residential sites.’
‘Resthaven supports around 1,160 older people in residential aged care throughout metropolitan and regional South Australia. They all require good, clean linen.’
