Out and about in Westbourne Park

On 28 September, Resthaven Westbourne Park formed a small group to check out the Craft Display Day at their local Uniting Church.

Lifestyle Coordinator, Rachael Ross says, ‘Westbourne Park Uniting Church is located across the road, and one day, I noticed a banner advertising their display.’

‘A few residents were interested to take a look, so we decided to walk over one morning.’

‘There was quite a variety of artworks to check out; soft toys and teddies, wildlife sketches and paintings, woodwork, knitted items, and more. It was great to see the broad community talents in our area.’

‘After doing the rounds, we sat down outside with everyone and enjoyed a chat—learning that some of the projects took more than a year to produce!’

Residents commented:

‘I loved it! They are very clever, and I would like to try those crafts.’

‘It was just fabulous! We didn’t have to fuss about travelling far. We were happy and relaxed, and I’m eager to attend another.’

Rachael says, ‘It was a really lovely morning spent together, and we met a lot of people in the community.’

‘I am sure we will be back again soon for their next event!’
