    Resthaven Leabrook Show Day

    The show must go on

Residents of Resthaven Leabrook didn’t let the cancellation of the Royal Adelaide Show dampen their spirits, with the home holding their own ‘Resthaven Leabrook Show Day’ instead!

On 22 September, residents, staff, and volunteers joined together for this festive annual event – albeit with physical distancing and extra hygiene measures in place.

Lifestyle Coordinator, Sorina Pap, says, ‘The 2020 Resthaven Leabrook Show Day may not have been as big as in previous years, but it was just as beautiful.’

‘Guests enjoyed the festivities whilst still practicing all the appropriate physical distancing and COVID-safe measures. ’

‘Like every year, our show day encourages reminiscing for residents, with displays of items inspired by the Royal Adelaide Show.’

‘This may include art and craft, photographs, and special memories.’

‘For example, Mrs Marie Wilfred, who was a Royal Adelaide Show participant on many occasions with her award-winning German Shepherd, Rex, was happy to share her experiences with fellow guests.’

‘The Resthaven Leabrook Show Day was a meaningful day of reminiscing – there were many comments on lovely displays, craftsmanship, talent, past interests, and passions that went into creating them.’

‘Thank you to all participants for sharing, and being engaged in making our Show Day possible.’
