Resthaven Marion Community Services Celebrates ‘Christmas in July’

In late July, the Resthaven Marion Community Services ‘Friday Club’ threw off their winter woollies and celebrated ‘Christmas in July’.

The group enjoyed a traditional meal of roast chicken and vegetables, followed by pudding with custard.

Entertainment included Entertainer, Robert, singing traditional Christmas carols, and a comical poetry reading from group member, Mavis Wood.

Manager, Deb McDonald, said ‘Mavis was looking fabulous in costume, complete with stands of pearls and an evening gown. She had us all laughing in our seats!’

‘With the activity room filled with decorations, the atmosphere was full of joy and happiness.’

‘Bon bons were popped, party hats were worn, and jokes were shared.’

‘The group commented that it was just like a big family Christmas at home.’

‘The cold, wet weather outside was all but forgotten as the group celebrated each other’s company with laughter, fun and cheer.’
