    Remain Vigilant

Please follow all necessary infection control precautions and note the need to wear a surgical mask correctly at all times.

It is a timely reminder of COVID-19 safe practices for the workplace.

    The following principles apply:

    • Masks are required in open office areas and when seated at your work station
    • No shared food
    • Social distancing
    • Hand hygiene
    • Cough etiquette
    • Wipe down surfaces.

Please remember when wearing a face mask:

    • Make sure the mask covers your nose and mouth and fits snugly under your chin, over the bridge of your nose and against the sides of your face
    • Do not touch the front of your mask while wearing or removing it
    • Do not allow the mask to hang around your neck or under your nose.

Please continue to check-in each day using the QR codes as you have been doing.

Thank you once again for all that you are doing to keep our residents, clients and colleagues safe. It is much appreciated.

Aged Care Health Worker COVID-19 Drive Through

Clinpath Pathology offer dedicated aged care specific COVID-19 testing for exposure in a residential aged care home.

Clinpath can provide a COVID-19 PCR test at a dedicated aged care health worker drive through. Located behind the Pulteney Street Collection Centre, with entry and exit via Wakefield Street, this site eliminates the need for you to wait in large COVID-19 drive through lines. The drive through operates from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm Saturday, and 8am to 1pm Sunday.

This service is a booked appointment service. To book your test, please call the COVID-19 customer service team on 1800 870 778 (Monday to Friday 8am–6pm, Saturday 8am–4pm), or visit the website: www.clinpath.com.au

It is important to let the staff at the testing site know that you work in aged care and that your exposure is in a residential aged care home. Check if you are eligible when making your appointment.

Enter from Wakefield Street, Adelaide, near Pulteney Street, and the rear of Calvary Adelaide Hospital in the city.

    COVID-19 Booster Vaccinations

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the vulnerable people Resthaven supports. All Resthaven staff, regardless of their role, are critical in supporting the wellbeing of older people.

I appreciate your willingness to protect these people, as well as yourself, your family and colleagues, through vaccination against COVID-19.

From 29 January 2022, COVID-19 booster vaccinations of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine will be a mandatory requirement for people employed or engaged by or on behalf of residential aged care facilities, as well as disability support workers and people who engage in work or perform duties at in-home and community aged care.

All workers must have had, or have evidence of a booking to have, a booster within four weeks of becoming eligible. People aged 18 years and over are eligible to receive the booster dose four months after receiving the second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

For any questions about vaccination and assistance on how to book an appointment, call the dedicated COVID-19 Helpline on 1800 020 080 (select option 4) or visit www.health.gov.au.

I am proud of the difference Resthaven staff make, whether through direct or indirect support of our residents and clients, and trust that you will accept this opportunity to have a booster vaccination.

    Thank you very much.

You are responsible for arranging an appointment to be vaccinated yourself. Visit the SA Health vaccination clinics page for details about the closest clinic to you and availability of appointments.

The Australian Government is currently rolling out the national COVID-19 vaccine booster program for residential aged care. As part of this program, an in-reach booster clinic has or will be held at residential homes for residents and staff, including students and volunteers, who have completed their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

You can also access GPs, pharmacists or state-run vaccination clinics for your booster dose. It will improve your immune response and provide an additional layer of protection to further reduce the risk of breakthrough infection (when a fully vaccinated person gets COVID-19 and is at risk of transmitting the virus to others).

For all other vaccination information, go to COVID-19 vaccination | SA.GOV.AU: COVID-19

When you receive your COVID-19 vaccinations, ask the provider for a hard copy of your vaccination certificate or alternatively download your vaccination record from Medicare online.

Provide a copy of your vaccination evidence to your manager after each vaccination dose to enable your employment records to be updated in Preceda.

Presentation of evidence is required for every vaccination (iafter both dose #1 and dose #2 and the booster dose).

Records of all staff vaccinations will be securely stored confidentially in the Payroll system (Preceda) for all employee records.

It is mandatory for staff to be vaccinated against seasonal influenza, and to obtain evidence of your vaccination. Keep a personal record and provide a copy of this evidence to your supervisor.
