Client thankful to receive Resthaven home care services

Resthaven Paradise and Eastern Community Services client, Margaret, enjoys the benefits she receives to live independently at home, and as a bonus, has made some friends along the way.

Included in Margaret’s Home Care Package, she receives services twice a week, assisting her with housework, showers, walks, shopping and transport. Every Monday, she enjoys being taken to her ‘Ladies Group’ catch-up.

Margaret says, ‘The ladies and I meet at the café every Monday afternoon – I look forward to it every week. I love catching up with my pals, Nancy and Nadia for a gossip!’

‘The assistance is great, but mainly, I am thankful to get out of the house – Resthaven does a great job at that, especially with the social groups on offer.’

Recently, the Ladies Group had the opportunity to spend the day at Resthaven’s newly acquired respite house, Alexandra Cottage.

‘Oh, it was beautiful! It feels inviting and homely.’

Located at 61 Alexandra Avenue, Toorak Gardens, Alexandra Cottage invites guests to spend a day, a night, or more, providing respite for their carers.

‘The ladies and I enjoyed the entire afternoon here, and I look forward to coming back! I may even stay overnight sometime.’

Margaret is so happy with the services she receives, she is happy to soon receive more!

‘I’ve recently become eligible to receive more services, so I’ll be getting three visits a week instead of two.’
