A ‘WOW’ of a Connection to Coonalpyn Silos

Resthaven Community WOW group visit Coonalypyn Silo muralsRecently, the Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills and Fleurieu Community Services ‘Wellness on Wednesday (WOW)’ groups visited the famous Coonalpyn Silos, home of Australia’s largest murals, painted by Guido van Helten.

Resthaven Occupational Therapist, Caroline Tenny, says, ‘Amazingly, WOW Group attendees, Helen and Joan, both have great-grandchildren featured in the mural.’

‘Helen and Joan are delighted that the artist, Guido, chose them as subjects for his famous mural.’

‘That’s a WOW of a touch to the silos!’

The Resthaven WOW group meets every week, and is just one of the many wellness groups run through Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills and Community Services across their three locations at Murray Bridge, Strathalbyn and Port Elliot.

Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills & Fleurieu Community Services staff also support older people in their own homes through the provision of home care packages and home support services.
