Resthaven Bellevue Heights Redevelopment — Stage Two
Resthaven Manager Building and Capital Projects, Emmet O’Donovan, says, ‘The second stage of the two-year, $27m transformation of Resthaven Bellevue Heights, at 47 Eve Road, is well underway.’
‘The first stage was completed last year, and involved building a new accommodation area and refurbishment of two others. Residents and staff are enjoying the modern, attractive new rooms and amenities, which are bright and airy, giving a feeling of openness.’
‘The second stage of the project involves replacing 32 rooms in the old lodges, bringing them all under one roof. There will be improvements to the site’s entry and exit, and car parking, and all other areas will be upgraded and refurbished, including the reception, hall, common areas, link ways, and laundry.’
‘Work is progressing well on the refurbishment of the ‘Banksia’ area of the home, which is being completed in two stages. The first stage is due to be completed in late February, followed immediately by the commencement of the second stage.’
‘As the old reception and entry point is now closed off, a temporary reception is now the main entry point.’
‘Later in the year, the final rooms are scheduled for refurbishment, which will provide a bright and comfortable environment for residents.’
‘The new entry roadway is now fully operational. It is a one-way looped road, with the exit at the old site entry point. We are currently working on the landscaping and irrigation of the surrounding areas.’
‘The main directional signage will be installed once the building program is nearing completion.’
‘When the project is complete, there will be a significant increase in the number of parking spaces available to residents and families. I am sure this will be a welcome improvement!’
‘I thank all staff, residents, and families for being so patient and understanding whilst these works are being conducted.’
‘The project is scheduled to be completed in December 2023.’
