    Resthaven Bellevue Heights redevelopment update

The $30m+ major redevelopment of Resthaven Bellevue Heights continues into the final building stage, and is on track to be completed this year.

Senior Manager Building and Capital Projects, Emmet O’Donovan, says, ‘Stage 2 of the redevelopment, incorporating 23 new rooms, is progressing well.’

‘After a brief break over Christmas, builders from Sarah Constructions returned to the site in early January 2024.’

‘Work has recommenced on renovating bedrooms, and demolition of some of the older bedrooms and service areas, which were vacated when residents and staff moved into areas that were completed last year.’

‘The new building is starting to come together. It will include a memory support area, resident rooms, and living areas on the top floor.’

‘On the lower floor, there will be a modern kitchen, laundry, staff room and storage areas. Staff are very excited to move into this area.’

‘Several dining and servery areas are currently undergoing renovations, and new dining room furniture has arrived.’

‘A feature will be a large picture window in the dining room, which is going to look beautiful.’

‘The refurbishment of Acacia is in its final stage, which will complete all internal rooms.’

Manager Residential Services, Leanne Spencer, says, ‘We are very grateful to our site community for their patience as the works continue, and very excited that the end is in sight!’

‘We know the end result will be worth the wait.’

The redevelopment is expected to be complete in the second half of 2024.
