    Exercise Classes at Resthaven Leabrook

Residents at Resthaven Leabrook are benefiting from an exercise class trial program, held on site at 336 Kensington Road, Leabrook, three times a week.

Mrs Millie Ritchie (pictured), a relative newcomer to Resthaven Leabrook, had ‘never thought of exercise before’ she moved into the home three months ago.Leabrook exercise

‘It just never occurred to me,’ she says.

‘Now I’m living here, I can just come along to this class – it makes it easy.’

‘From doing the exercise classes, my neck especially is more flexible, and I can stand up straighter and have more energy.’

Manager, Residential Services, Mark Bednall, is delighted with residents’ progress.

‘The exercise classes are run by a qualified physiotherapist from “Move Xtra,” he says, ‘and are held three times a week.’

‘There is a small charge for the classes, which is claimable through most private health insurance providers.’

‘We are currently trialling the exercise classes to see if this is something residents would like introduced on a permanent basis.’

Mrs Ritchie, for one, is a big fan.

‘I do all the classes,’ she says. ‘I come to everything – I love them.’
