Farm animals delight at any age

On Friday 6 September, residents at Resthaven Westbourne Park were delighted to host the ‘Old McDonald’s Farm’ petting zoo at the home at 30 Sussex Terrace, Westbourne Park.

Lifestyle Coordinator, Verona Rix, says, ‘Around fifty residents joined us in the lounge (due to the cold weather), where they were able to touch and hold a variety of small farm animals, including goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, and chickens.’

‘Everyone loved watching and patting the adorable animals.’

‘The visit formed part of the Resthaven Westbourne Park annual “Show Week” celebrations, giving residents the opportunity to reminisce about attending the Royal Adelaide Show themselves as children.’

‘Residents shared fond memories of what the Show was like when they were young, and how much is has
    changed.’

‘One thing that hasn’t changed is the joy that animals bring, no matter your age!’

‘We thank Old McDonald’s Farm for visiting, and can’t wait see them again soon.’

Resthaven Westbourne Park is just one of Resthaven’s twelve high quality residential aged care homes.
