Resthaven supports older people to live independently

‘I enjoy life very much’, says John

Resthaven Northern Community Services supports older people living in the northern suburbs to live independently in their own homes.

One of these is Mr John Nimmo, who cannot praise his service enough, saying ‘my independence is very important to me’.

Amongst the many services that Resthaven Northern Community Services provides, John is especially thankful for his gym plan that was tailor made to his individual needs.

‘I go two days a week,’ he says.

‘I’ve gone from sitting in the house, to being able to go out’.

‘I now have friends all over!’

‘Resthaven has kept me as I am now, and I enjoy life very much’.

Resthaven Northern Community Services supports older people in the northern metropolitan areas to live independently in their own homes with a range of in-home support and centre-based wellness programs.

In response to the ongoing demand for services, an outreach office opened at 5 King Street, Gawler in late 2020.
