    ‘Butterfly Wall’ to Thank Nurses

Residents at Resthaven Marion have created an International Nurses Day display in the site café, to thank nurses on this day, and every other day, for all that they do. Residents couldn’t leave out the valuable contributions of the care workers as well!

Lifestyle Coordinator, Sharon Betty, says, ‘This was a heartfelt effort from residents, instigated by Mrs Gary Jerkovic, who volunteered to create this wonderful display.’

‘The display comprises handmade paper butterflies, each of which has the name of a nurse or a personal care worker written on it by a resident.’

‘Every nurse and care worker who works at Resthaven Marion has their own individual butterfly.’

‘Staff were delighted to come in today and find the butterfly bearing their name!’

‘We chose butterflies because they symbolise rebirth, change, inner beauty, transformation, and the essence of one’s true self.’

‘These are just some of the many wonderful qualities that nurses embody.’

‘Thank you to all Resthaven nurses, for all that they do to support residents with high quality aged care services.’

Resthaven also celebrated International Nurses Day at Head Office, with Clinical Nurse, Workforce Development, Julie Tansing, reflecting on her 50+ year nursing career.

    Happy International Nurses Day!
