Resthaven Murray Bridge Redevelopment Update
‘The $16.5m redevelopment of Resthaven Murray Bridge is well on its way to its expected completion in November 2018,’ says Emmet O’Donovan, Manager, Buildings and Capital Projects.
‘When complete, it will provide an extra 18 places for older people, taking the total number of places at Resthaven Murray Bridge from 78 to 96.’
‘This expansion will also provide extra jobs for locals.’
‘Stage 3 of the Resthaven Murray Bridge redevelopment incorporates construction of 20 new rooms to replace the Talbot, Jenkins and Christopher areas, along with a new reception and administration area, a dedicated hall, café, hairdresser, shop and library.’
‘A new building to house Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills & Fleurieu Community Services is also currently under construction next door to Resthaven Murray Bridge.’
‘This is speeding along, with the main superstructure erected, and roofing underway.’
‘The Community Services building is expected to be complete in October 2018.’
‘An official site reopening, incorporating both the residential and community services redevelopments, will be held in early 2019.’
‘This “new era” at Resthaven Murray Bridge is timely, with the site celebrating its 60th birthday this year.’
‘This milestone will be celebrated at the annual Resident Christmas Luncheon on 30 November.’
