Ageing Well in the West Expo

On Tuesday 15 October, Resthaven Western Community Services was at the ‘Ageing Well in the West’ expo, presented in partnership with the Cities of Charles Sturt, Port Adelaide Enfield and West Torrens.

The expo featured presentations on a range of topics, including dementia and Alzheimer’s, diabetes prevention, downsizing, and financial and lifestyle planning.

Franco Parenti, Manager Resthaven Western Community Services, says ‘This free expo was a great opportunity for people to come along and ask about the services that Resthaven offers older people who live at home.

‘Many people are unsure about how to go about accessing a little support at home, yet this can make a huge difference to their quality of life. So if you didn’t catch us at the Expo, come into Resthaven Western Community Services, or call us on  8345 0577 and speak to our friendly staff to find out how Resthaven can help.

‘We can go through the steps of how to access support through MyAgedCare and outline the services we offer, such as Home Care Packages, from level one to four, in home support such as assistance with cleaning, laundry, meals, and social support.

‘Find out about our Regency Cottage day respite program that offers carers of older people a break, and everyone attending has a great time socialising and enjoying home cooked lunches.’

‘We also offer social, wellness and exercise programs at our office at Woodville.’
