Personal care ‘doesn’t feel like work’ to Shweta

Personal Care Assistant, Shweta, thrives in her role at Resthaven Leabrook, allowing her to connect with people every day.

Shweta says, ‘I am an outgoing, empathetic person by nature, and I love keeping busy, which is perfect for my role!’

Shweta’s workday involves providing direct care services to residents throughout the home, allowing her flexibility to do what she enjoys the most.

‘It is a good feeling to work together and support the team, and I get to do what I love—chatting with and assisting residents with their needs.’

‘The best part for me, is when I have finished up everything I need to do for the day, I can go and paint someone’s nails, or help them with their Christmas gift-wrapping. Residents appreciate the extra time I give them in this way, and it doesn’t feel like work to me.’

On her future in aged care, Shweta shares, ‘In the year and a half I have been here, the staff have been nothing but supportive of me and my growth.’

‘When the time is right, I might like to study nursing to further my career. I know management will support me in achieving that goal when the time comes, but until then, I am more than happy where I am!’

Thank you for sharing your Resthaven experience with us, Shweta.
